About The Crazy Blonde

Hi Everyone!  My name is Suzanne Smith and my blog is called Crazy Blonde Life.

I live in a small town in North Carolina called Burlington and it has always been my home.  I live on the same street I grew up on about 4 blocks away from where I live now.  I’ve always said that I know the cracks in the sidewalk because I’ve walked them so many times.  I am married to Garrick and we have three grown daughters, Lauren, Rebecca and Sarah who live in different states.  Other than blogging, I spend most of my time traveling between Atlanta, Nashville and Boston as well as Bald Head Island where we love to vacation in the summer!  If you had asked me as little as 5 or 6 years ago, I would have said that I wanted to move away from Burlington, but as time has gone on and I have traveled more, I realize that Burlington is a great little town that is nestled between some pretty fabulous stuff!  Now, for the most part, when I’m in town, I’m really grateful to be in my home, to have my Crazy Blonde Life Blog and I’m so blessed to have my daughters and two amazingly handsome grandsons, Hudson and Graham.  My one wish right now is that they lived closer.

I started Crazy Blonde Life about 4 years ago when my youngest daughter, Sarah was getting ready to go to college.  My life was about to change in a big way…bigger than I realized, and I knew even then that I needed something that was my own.  I laugh as I write this because at the time I started blogging, I had no earthly idea what I was doing, I just loved to read other peoples blogs and I felt that I had something to say.  My life truly has been, at times, crazy, and I love to talk about the things that I’m going through, because I know that other women are going through similar things and can relate to what I’m saying.  In the past 4 years, I’ve learned so much, met so many amazing people and I’ve found my passion in blogging.

Crazy Blonde Life has evolved into a lifestyle blog that is targeted to women in midlife; women just like me who are going through major life changes and trying to reinvent themselves.  We all know growing up that life is a series of changes.  Most women graduate from high school or college, get a job, get married, have children etc.  We expect major life changes as we go through all those different phases of life, but no one ever mentions the major life changes that we go through as our children grow up, our relationships and marriages change, and our roles as mothers and caregivers change.  I’m here to talk about all of those changes.  I’m here to inspire women to break the rules, because who made them anyway, and to live their best lives every single day.  Some days, I cry as I write my post and some days, I celebrate and feel so much joy that it’s bursting out of me, but that’s just the way life is!  I share inspirational posts, fashion, food, articles about travel, health and wellness and so much more.  My blog truly is the way I express myself and my way of trying to uplift others.

Crazy Blonde Life has grown more than I ever expected that it would when I started.  It’s been an exciting part of my life and I’ve said many times that it saved me.  It gives me something to focus on when times are hard and life isn’t going just the way I want it too.  It challenges me every day to learn more, not just about the technical part of blogging, but about topics that will enrich my life and the lives of the people who read my blog.  I’m very proud of what I’ve accomplished and I absolutely cannot wait to see where this Crazy Blonde Blog takes me next!  I hope you’ll join me as I learn and grow everyday!

I believe that Midlife can be a great time and my wish is to inspire my readers to live their best lives.  I love all things spiritual; I love delicious food and  I most definitely love fashion!  I believe that life is short so we must figure out how to make every day count!  Every single day deserves a little indulgence (or two)!

I believe in injecting beauty and love into every day, and while I work on doing that in my little corner of the world, I hope this blog will inspire you to do the same in yours.
