A Demin Jacket for Spring and Lemon Pound Cake

Today's post was inspired by my craving for a lemon pound cake!  One of the desserts for my upcoming coming cooking class is lemon pound cake and I haven't made one in a very long time, so yesterday, I decided it was about time.  It was a beautiful, sunny day, but it was too cold to be outside for very long so it was the perfect time to start baking.  My friend and photographer Emily Genzer was coming by to take some pictures so it turned into a food and fashion photo session!  Sarah got in on the pictures as well, and then we all had pound cake!  Scroll down for the pound cake recipe.

I love to wear a denim jacket in the spring because it keeps me warm, and this one from Anthropologie is the perfect look with tee shirts and white jeans.  I'll admit that I'm ready for sandals, but yesterday my Rag and Bone booties were the best option for the 46 degree high!  Sarah's camo jacket is also great for spring and I'll be borrowing it soon...it goes with everything.

It was so bright and sunny that I decided to serve the lemon pound cake in our sunroom.  I love the way it turned out and it was a beautiful presentation on a white pedestal cake stand with lemon slices for garnish.  I glazed it with a lemony glaze that made it very moist and even more delicious!

The cute towel with lemons is by Kate Spade and my Mom gave me the plates.

This Chloe bag is one that I'll wear all summer long.  It is the perfect size for a cell phone, credit card and lipstick...the essentials!

I wear these classic bracelets with everything.  They are Slane and David Yurman and they mix and match with so many other things, gold and silver.

I'm savoring every minute with this sweet girl before she moves to Tennessee in May!  I can't believe that all three of my girls will be in different states!
