How to Throw a Bridal Shower Brunch

This morning, Lauren and I had a bridal shower brunch for Sarah.  The shower started at 11:00 am and we served a traditional Southern brunch menu...Shrimp and Grits, Spinach Quiche, Blueberry Muffins, Seasonal Fruit and of course, Mimosas.  The guest list included family and friends.  We had a lovely time visiting and getting to know new friends while eating and watching Sarah open her presents.

We started cooking on Saturday morning; making blueberry muffins and quiche and prepping the Shrimp and Grits.  I got up early this morning and finished the shrimp and grits and sliced the fruit.  The menu was easy, but also hearty and delicious.

These peonies came from my garden and the fragrance is incredible!

It was so nice to spend time with old friends.  Sarah and her best friend Sarah have been friends since the fifth grade.

This fabulous flower arrangement was made by Lyn Moser of Special Arrangements.  Lyn has done amazing flower arrangements for us since our girls were very young.  She created beautiful flower arrangements for Lauren's wedding and made our home a winter wonderland this year at Christmas!  It wouldn't be a party without beautiful flower arrangements from Special Arrangements!

Shrimp and Grits is a great dish to serve for a crowd and holds up well on a buffet.  I garnished the shrimp and grits with crumbled bacon and sliced scallions.

Hudson was such a big help with opening gifts!

These tulips are so beautiful and I'm looking forward to enjoying them this week every time I come in the house!  Fresh flowers make me happy!

The invitations for this brunch went out about three weeks ago.  We planned the menu and grocery shopped in advance as much as possible.  Saturday was spent making quiche and blueberry muffins and prepping the shrimp and grits.  Sunday morning, we finished the shrimp and grits, sliced the fruit and set the table.  When the guests started to arrive, we made mimosas and served lemonade.

When throwing a bridal shower or any event that calls for a bit of elegance, pull out your best silver and china and spoil your guests as much as possible.  We had so much fun today and I can't wait to share the recipes for the brunch food on the blog this week!  Follow me on Instagram @crazyblondelifeblog.
