I believe a story grows stronger when it’s shared

When we share our stories, others feel less alone and as a result have permission to share their story as well.  It is healing to know that you’re not alone.

May 3, 2024 will mark my 9th year of blogging. When I started Crazy Blonde Life, I wasn’t in the best place in my life…my marriage was unhappy, my youngest daughter had just gone to college and I felt very alone and scared.

I knew nothing about starting a blog…absolutely nothing, but I felt that I had something to say and a blog seemed to be a good idea.

What a journey this 9 years has been. I believe we are always becoming more of who we authentically are…uncovering why we are here and learning to shine as only we can. The world needs our light, now more than ever.

I know one thing for sure…if you are a woman over fifty, you didn’t get here without some hard times. I also know that so much wisdom was gained along the way.

I have grown and changed for the better in the nine years since I started Crazy Blonde Life because I wanted to change. I wanted my life to be good and I grew my faith as I surrendered into a journey that kept me learning, studying and striving to be the best person I could be. At that time, I knew in my heart that I was the common denominator in most (okay all) of my problems and if I wanted things to change, it was up to me.

I am in such a good place in my life right now and I have so much to share…as turns out, a blog was and still is, a great idea! I can share everything right here and I’m so happy you’ve decided to join me.

Midlife women are relevant, we have so much life ahead of us and we can still learn and grow and share the wisdom gained along the way. Crazy Blonde Life is meant to help make your journey going forward, richer and more interesting. I want to encourage you to get curious and creative and live your best life…it’s never too late. We are multifaceted women who are capable of doing anything we can dream.

Every morning that I wake up is a gift and an opportunity to share my life, my love and my passion.

I have a husband who loves me dearly, three beautiful daughters, three amazing son-in-laws, three amazing grandsons, one granddaughter and one more little girl on the way (coming in October).

I live in an historic home (it will be 100 years old in 2033) on a tree lined street in a small town in North Carolina. I actually live on the same street I grew up on. I used to think I wanted to move someplace bigger, but I’ve come to love this small town and the people here.

I love to travel and I’m passionate about good food, fashion and staying healthy. I lift weights, spin and row, walk my 80 pound dog Amos (my fur baby) and do yoga. I know how important it is to stay fit as I get older.

I am still trying to find balance in my life, but sometimes my passion gets in the way and that’s okay. I am a firm believer in meditation, because finding stillness each day leads to every answer.

Creativity, curiosity, family, health, faith, surrender, stillness, passion, celebration, a plate of hot French fries and a glass of Sancerre are the secrets to a happy life.

I believe truth is the highest frequency on the planet and I believe that love always wins.

Love, Suzanne
