This quote from Dr. Wayne Dyer is one that we should all live by every day. When we look back on how we have spent our days, we realize that our days make up our lives. Trying to live a life of awareness of what we are doing with our days ensures that we don't look back with regrets. Dwelling on the past does nothing but make us feel sad and depressed, while living in the future makes us anxious and sometimes afraid. Trying to live life as if it were our last moment is about totally being in the present. This is not to say that we shouldn't have goals and work hard to achieve them, but it is so important to enjoy the journey. This mindset takes constant awareness and yes, sometimes work because our nature is to try to do five things at once and not really be aware of the moment at all. Each morning is a new opportunity to begin again and make our everyday lives something that we are proud of and content with. Every day won't be perfect or monumentally memorable, but it's about how we choose to live everyday and what we expect from ourselves. Being open to possibilities is such an important part of everyday life. When we are too busy multitasking or being worried or depressed, often we miss opportunities that are right in front of us. Follow your heart, quiet your mind and listen to your inner voice. It might just have something very important to say! Most of all, enjoy this moment because it will be gone in a blink!
It is my hope that you all will take some time to think about how you want your life to feel, and decide what it might take to get to that point. Put your plan into action and enjoy the journey. Feel the pain, celebrate the happiness and really live your life!
Live this day as if it were your last!
