AN OUTFIT AND A MENU FOR JULY 4!
I like to keep it casual for July 4th because I'm always running around cooking or serving food. We normally don't go out of town because it's really crowded everywhere so we have people over to celebrate. This year it's just Mr. Crazy Blonde and me (our girls are all out of town), so we have invited some friends to come and celebrate with us.
I got this great Trovata blouse from Mynt Boutique and decided to pair it with white J Brand shorts. I think it's a great classic combination. The blouse is linen, and naturally cool so it's perfect for being inside or out. The cute red bag is from Ann Taylor.
I also wanted to share part of my July 4th menu with you. I'm making Peach Caprese Salad, Spicy Grilled Shrimp with Garlic & Lemon and Crispy Roasted Potatoes with Paprika Mayo. The salad just screams summer because of the fresh sweet peaches combined with local tomatoes and basil. I wouldn't have thought of this combination until I had it at The Eddy Pub (see the post here) earlier in the week. I was determined to try to recreate the recipe at home.
I did a trial run of the menu last night since I've never made any of these dishes before and it was sooo good! Give these recipes a try and let me know what you think.
This Peach Caprese Salad is beautiful, healthy and delicious!
The shrimp cook very quickly once they are on the grill and are so delicious with the warm lemon juice squeezed over. This was the first time I've ever grilled lemons and they get really juicy and delicious!
The Paprika Mayo served with the potatoes is slightly sweet and spicy from the garlic.
This top is from the archives of my closet. It is Tory Burch and I've probably had it for ten years. I think it's still a fun shirt for July 4th and great with white jeans.
