Naot Shoes – Comfort & Style

01

If you’re looking for a comfortable and stylish shoe made by an amazing company, this is your shoe! I’ve been thinking about doing a post on the effects of fast fashion (some call it throw away fashion) on the environment for some time now, so when Naot contacted me and asked if I would do a blog post for them, I jumped at the chance. I’m interested in ways that we can all tread more lightly on the environment and still look as stylish as possible and wearing Naot shoes is a great way to do just that! Granted, Naot doesn’t make stilettos, but they do make very stylish shoes for other occasions, including the cute Kamsin booties I’m wearing. When I saw them on the website, I knew they would be great for evenings by the fire and days when I need to walk a lot and be comfortable. I’m a jeans and sweater kind of girl in the fall so these shoes are perfect! Keep reading to learn a little more about this amazing company!

Everyone loves a stylish pair of shoes, but finding a pair that is truly green and affordable is unusual these days. Naot is a line of footwear that truly does tread as lightly as possible on our fragile environment.

What Makes Naot Shoes Environmentally Friendly?

Vegetable tanning of the leather uppers means less pollution

Less glue and more stitching significantly reduces the use of chemical adhesives

They are handmade which means less machinery and less pollution

The soles are made from latex which is a natural rubber

They are made with natural cork insoles which are recyclable

I chose the Kamsin style bootie because I can wear it now without socks (or with little bootie socks) and when the weather gets colder, I’ll wear thicker socks. The neutral green with brown leather goes with so many of my sweaters and of course denim. I styled my booties with an Ulla Johnson sweater and distressed Mother Denim jeans. I’m really thrilled to have received these shoes and I’ll say it again…Naot shoes can’t be beat for comfort!

About The Company

“Naot is an international success story.  When the members of Kibbutz Naot Mordechai founded the kibbutz shoe factory in 1942 as a one room workshop, no one imagined that in fifty years’ time their shoes would be worn all over the world.  The small shoe factory that made simple work shoes and sandals has become an international business and is now Israel’s leading manufacturer and exporter of shoes.

The idea originating in northern Israel in the late nineteen-eighties, “It’s fashionable to walk in comfort”, quickly conquered the world. Naot manufactures a large variety of footwear with a unique anatomical footbed. The footbed is a “negative” print of the foot, just like the footprint we leave when walking in the sand. It is flexible, soft, shock absorbent, supports the heel and alleviates fatigue and pain. The footbeds are made of natural cork and latex and are covered in a pampering layer of suede. The uppers are made of high quality Italian leathers. Naot has gained a loyal customer following, which each year enjoys a new and exciting collection of comfortable shoes, clogs and sandals.”

By the way…Naot means oasis!

Thank you to Naot for sponsoring this post. All opinions are my own.

I cannot begin to tell you how thrilled I am over this post! 5 years ago I stupidly jumped off a ladder onto concrete and shattered my heel into 7 pieces. A metal plate, 7 screws, cadaver bone, a serious staph infection, and not being able to walk for 4 months…I am very grateful to be healthy again. But, alas, no more heels because I absolutely cannot take one step in them. The hunt for stylish shoes has been on since, and the options are pretty dismal. Naots are great for comfort. And I’ve found some cute flat sandals for summer cocktail parties and weddings, but for cold weather dressy occasions… nothing. Anything you can find that fits that bill for a future post would make my heart so happy! I feel like such a slob because I can’t dress up!

Oh my gosh! You’ve been through so much! I know that options for comfortable and stylish shoes are few, but I agree that Noat is a good brand. I’ll be on the lookout for cold weather dressy shoes and if I find some, I’ll definitely let you know! So glad you’re ok and can walk. That in itself is a blessing! Thank you so much for reading!
