Decadent Chocolate Tart

I used to bake often, but life got busy and the girls went off to school so I got out of the habit. I’ve always enjoyed baking, but it’s better to have someone around to eat what you’ve baked!

For Valentine’s Day, I decided to try my hand at making this chocolate tart I found on Epicurious. It was relatively easy to make and very rich and delicious. The crust is basically graham crackers with butter (yum) and a little sugar, and goes so well with the dreamy, creamy chocolate. If you want to make this gluten free, you could use gluten free graham crackers.

Baldy and I sat by our fire and ate a small piece for our dessert and I froze the rest for another day so I’ll let you know if it freezes well!

I used a tart pan with a removable bottom and the butter melted through a little in the oven (I baked it on a baking pay with sides), so I would recommend using one without a removable bottom. Being able to take the sides off the pan did make it easier to serve and it really looked pretty. Maybe it’s a toss up so do what seems right if you make this!

I made a step b step video for Instagram that you may find helpful to watch before you make this tart!

I hope you all had a fabulous Valentine’s Day!
