Thanksgiving Style - A Dressy Look and a Casual Classic

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday…it’s a time for gratitude, good food, and of course, great style. Whether your celebration calls for something dressy and feminine or casual and polished…I’ve got the looks for you! I’ve put together two Thanksgiving outfit ideas that are both comfortable and chic. Each outfit mixes timeless fall staples with fresh, modern details and I love them both. These outfits aren’t just for Thanksgiving …they’re versatile enough to wear all season long, from casual dinners to weekend outings!

If you’re wondering what to wear for Thanksgiving…I have a couple of ideas! For a laid-back holiday vibe, the outfit above is all about casual sophistication. I started with a pair of straight-leg jeans from AYR, which are a wardrobe staple for fall and my favorite jeans right now. They’re easy to dress up or down, and they pair perfectly with my canvas platform Gucci loafers…chic, comfortable, and ideal for a day spent cooking, entertaining at home or for a more casual Thanksgiving day. I reach for these shoes so often!

To finish the look, I added a striped cashmere sweater and layered it with a brown vest from Brochu Walker. This outfit is comfortable, classic and polished…ideal for a relaxed Thanksgiving lunch, an outdoor gathering, or even a weekend trip to see family.

Style tip: Add a scarf for an extra cozy, fall layer!

Another great option for your Thanksgiving outfit is this beautiful floral dress from Spartina 449 is the perfect option. The print features rich fall tones…warm browns, navy, black, tan, and a soft light blue…it’s a color palette that feels sophisticated and seasonal. The drawstring waist gives the dress a flattering shape while keeping it flowy and comfortable (perfect for those extra helpings of pumpkin pie!).

I styled this gorgeous dress with black suede stiletto boots from Staud. These boots are well priced and so versatile, especially going into the holiday season. The combination of the flowy silhouette and the boots creates a look that’s dressy and effortless, making it an ideal choice for a more dressy family dinner or a Friendsgiving celebration. Add gold jewelry, a modern strand of pearls and a classic black handbag to complete the outfit.

Style tip: If you prefer like a more relaxed feel, you could swap the stilettos for ankle boots or even knee-high flat boots.

Don’t forget to add your personal touches…favorite jewelry, a statement bag, or your go-to lipstick shade. With these looks, you’ll be ready for everything from family photos to after-dinner coffee.

Today, Baldy and I are celebrating our 34th wedding anniversary! We’re going to a local restaurant to talk and have a glass of wine and then coming home to sit by our outdoor fireplace and eat dinner! It’s exactly how I want to spend the day…in our home with our pups!

I’m curious about what you wear for Thanksgiving…do you dress up or keep it casual? Let me know in the comments!
