Easy Holiday Decor Ideas to Spark Your Creativity

I’ve been a busy little bee these last few days! I decided I didn’t want to repeat the exact same holiday décor as last year, so I’ve been scouring Pinterest, Instagram, and a few books and magazines for fresh, inspiring ideas. So…in today’s post, I’m sharing some of the ideas that really spoke to me, in hopes they’ll inspire you to switch things up a bit, too!

I haven’t completely finished decorating yet, but my goal is to have most of it done by Friday…and then it’s on to wrapping ALL the packages! I’ve ordered nearly everything online this year, so packages have been trickling in, but I already have a nice little stack to wrap! Actually, wrapping is one of my favorite things because I can put on a Christmas movie, get a glass of wine and relax as I wrap!

’Tis the season…

This photo may need a little explanation…this is a canopy bed in a little girls room and the paper chain is draped around the top of the bed and secured with ribbon! I have almost the exact bed in my youngest daughter’s room and I’ve ordered the paper chain! I think it’s such a cute idea and will add a festive touch to that room! I’ve also ordered a star garland to go on the mantle in our parlor! I wanted things to be a bit more whimsical this year!

This post is mostly visual because I didn’t feel the need to comment on every picture…but honestly, each time I look at them, I notice something new! I’ll probably be tweaking things right up until the very end, but that’s part of the fun! Today is the big delivery day for most of the décor I ordered, so finishing up should be a breeze. I’ve been collecting Christmas décor for years, so it didn’t take much to re-imagine what I already have in a fresh way with just a few new additions. Choosing a “whimsical” theme this year has really helped me stay focused and keep the overall look a little more playful while still staying in keeping with our historic home.

I hope you feel inspired after scrolling through these pictures. If you end up using any of the ideas…or if you’re trying something new and different this year, please let me know!

As always…this week is flying by! Have a wonderful day and thanks for reading!
