Living Life in Color

As I’m sitting here writing this post, the sun is streaming through my window and it feels so good! It has been the weirdest, most grey January I remember in years and I’m so glad this month is coming to an end! I know that may sound negative, but I’m really needing some warmth and time outside! Last night, we had a fire in our outdoor fireplace for the first time since Christmas and it felt so good to just be out under the night sky and feel the warmth of the flames. It’s either been to rainy or cold (or on a few occasions…warm) to have a fire and it’s really one of my favorite things to do! After a fun but busy weekend celebrating Bristol’s (our grandson) third birthday, I was ready for a little downtime! I made a delicious shredded Honey-Soy Glazed Chicken in the slow cooker along with coconut rice and we ate outside watching the fire crackle and spark and it was just what I needed!

Ahhh but it’s Monday again and I’m right back at it…going a hundred miles an hour, but at least the sun is shining!

Last week, in an effort to bring a little color to these short grey days and boost my mood, I decided to step out of my (winter) box just a little and I put together this colorful look! It’s funny because it reminded me so much of something my mom would have worn with the exception of the lug sole loafers! She really loved pink and light blue and wore those colors all of the time!

About the look…

So…in addition to what I’m already doing everyday, I’ve become a Cabi Stylist! I decided to do this because I was buying Cabi every season and each time I wore any of the pieces on social media, people wanted to purchase and it just seemed like an easy transition for me! The clothes this season are so much fun and there are so many pieces that I love! Now, I’m able to wear them and sell them and that’s a win/win for me!

Cabi is such a great company that’s all about women supporting women. They even have a foundation that provides micro loans for women in third world countries and have begun building schools as well! I love knowing that I’m part of a company that wants to give back!

The pink sweater I’m wearing in these pictures totally inspired the outfit (along with my mom) and it’s such a versatile piece! Made of cotton with a v-neck, this sweater will take me into spring and even summer! It’s going to look great with white jeans and so many other things and when the weather gets too warm, I’ll throw it over my shoulders for an accent with a blouse (this sweater is another one of my favorites)! I’m actually wearing a medium in these pictures because it’s the size that came with my sample set, but I really don’t mind that it’s a little oversized. Normally, I would wear an extra small, but if I were to order this, I would probably get a small (just to let you know about sizing)!

Be sure to take a minute to look at the Cabi website to see the full collection and send me an email or comment below if you have any questions about sizing or anything else! I’ve gotten to know the collection pretty well by now!

I paired my pink sweater with wide leg jeans (these are similar), my Gucci lug sole loafers (these are really comfy now but it took a while to break them in), a blue and white striped blouse from Loft and my Tory Burch bag that I purchased in NYC over Christmas! I really love this outfit and got so many compliments all day long!

When I’m out and about taking pictures, it’s fun to have a prop…something to hold because it’s seems more natural than just standing there! I stopped by a local coffee shop close to where we took these photos and got a Mexican Mocha…it was so delicious and has now become my new favorite coffee to order. I also tried my first hot Matcha the other day with honey and lavender syrup…omg it was so tasty! Since it’s been really cold, I’ve been drinking more coffee and have several little coffee shops that I like to stop by depending on which direction I’m going!

I’d love to know how the weather has been where you live? I see people posting in sleeveless dresses from warmer clients and wonder if I need to move to Florida! I do like the seasons, but for some reason this year, I’m just over winter! My thoughts have turned to planting my spring flowers and herbs, Easter and going to the beach! What about you?

I have several new recipes coming your way this week as well as some ideas for Valentine’s Day! I hope you’ve enjoyed this post and I hope you have a great week! Happy Monday!
