Mad For Plaid

Nothing says autumn quite like plaid. It’s cool, cozy, and goes well with other seasonal staples like blue jeans, and oversized sweaters. And while the humble plaid shirt is probably the staple we’ve all got in our closets, there are plenty of other ways to wear the pattern… like wearing a plaid coat. Plaid coats look amazing and seasonal with pretty much everything in your closet, from blue jeans to dresses. Since I’m basically a blue jeans girl, I styled my coat with light wash distressed jeans and a black silk blouse by Equipment (a closet staple). I added a belt and suede platform booties, (platforms give height but are more comfortable than regular heels), rolled the hem of my jeans up once and I was out the door. The best thing about this outfit is that my cute coat from Just Fab is on sale for $65.00.

I also love to style plaid blouses with leopard coats, especially around the holidays. It’s a little more bold than this outfit, but makes a fun statement when you feel especially festive!

My gorgeous necklace is from Julie Miles! Wearing a short statement necklace with a silk blouse so that it peeks out right at the neck makes an interesting statement.
