New Brand Crush - Madison Maison - Street Style Edition

Every now and then, I really like to make a bold statement! Why? It could be any number of things that put me in that mood…a new hair cut or color, something that has happened in my life…good or bad, or it could be something as simple as a fabulous new pair of boots! Do you ever feel this way?

I’m getting philosophic about this because as I was pondering what to say about these boots, it struck me that there are just days in my life when I get up and the world is my oyster and days when I get up and want to stay in my pajamas! While it’s true that we basically set ourselves up for the kind of day that we want to have (or not have) most of the time, sometimes, these good days just happen and when they do…look out because it’s gonna be fun!

Well, that’s how this day felt! I woke up, knowing I would be photographing these fabulous Madison Maison gold boots and as usual, having no earthly idea what I would wear with them! I started playing around in my closet after searching Pinterest for ideas. The images that struck me on Pinterest that day were old images of Kate Moss and that’s what inspired the looks that I came up with.

My first thought was a black leather jacket, but of the 4 I own, none of them seemed to work and then, I tried on this dark green one and it felt right! The jeans are several years old and yes…they are skinny, low rise jeans and I love them and will continue to wear them! They definitely have a specific look that seemed to be perfect with the boots. Since it was an unusually warm day in January, I added a black sleeveless mock neck top and my vintage pearl necklace and an outfit was born!

I knew I wanted to style the boots in two different ways, and of course, Kate Moss is famous for sporting a leopard coat so I pulled one out and it was just what I was looking for! Sometimes, getting dressed is a process!

My point to all of this rambling is that I woke up (for some reason), expecting a good day and I just went with it…letting my creative juices take over! I do wish getting dressed was that easy every day! Actually, I think it could be much easier, if, on the days I felt especially creative, I put several outfits together for days when I wake up rushed, or just not feeling my best! Anyway…I hope you’re inspired to get creative and play in your closet!

About Madison Maison…

“MADISON is a fashion boutique which opened in 1989 in Beverly Hills, California. MADISON was voted one of the world’s best boutiques by Vogue Italia and Footwear News. In the 1990's MADISON was one of the first in the world to introduce designer lines such as Prada, Miu Miu, Dolce & Gabbana, Chloe, Marni, Balenciaga, Jimmy Choo, Christian Louboutin, as well as the relaunch of YSL and Valentino.

As times have changed, so has MADISON. We have now launched our own line MADISON•MAISON, which we design 100% in-house. We source from the best Italian tanneries. Our goal is to deliver high end fashion, superior quality and comfort at incredibly reasonable prices. The customer today wants to get amazing pieces at prices which make sense. That is the heart of MADISON•MAISON.”

This is my first pair of Madison Maison shoes, but it certainly won’t be my last! These fabulous gold boots (they do also come in silver) are so comfortable and versatile! I’m wearing them here in a very “street style” way, but the options for these boots are endless! I will definitely be wearing them with dresses, shorts and skirts as the weather gets warmer and they are seasonless, in my opinion! I’m dying for a pair of loafers from Madison Maison and have included a few of my favorite pairs in the boutique below! These loafers aren’t your average loafers, and I absolutely love that about them! I think you’ll agree!

You may be wondering where to wear an outfit like this and I say…anywhere! After this photoshoot, I had dinner with my high school girlfriends at a local Mexican restaurant and I wore the leather jacket. And…why not be the one who turns heads at the grocery store or out to lunch or at a concert or at the movies? Fashion is and should be fun and a way to creatively express ourselves! While shiny gold cowboy boots may not be your thing…something is, and you can make your own personal style statement…whatever that style may be!

More and more, I love to incorporate vintage pieces into my wardrobe. The pearl necklace I’m wearing here was made from vintage pearls originally, but I’ve been wearing them in this iteration for probably 20 years! It’s funny to me that I bought things in the past that are now vintage!

I should do a post on my vintage items…that will be coming soon!

I do hope you’ve enjoyed my ramblings today! I love to sit and write on a Sunday morning with my little (not so little) pup laying beside me as I drink a cup of coffee!

Leave a comment below and let me know…do you love vintage and do you own or collect it? Also…be sure to check out the gorgeous selection of pieces from Madison Maison! Happy Sunday!
