Pretending I’m in Provence

Early spring, big garden dreams, and the perfect look for all of it!

Early spring in our little courtyard area is nothing short of charming and full of hope. The hydrangeas and azaleas are getting ready to burst into bloom, the bees and birds are hard at work doing what they do and life feels new again. Our gazebo is one of my favorite things about our home, although it could use a little TLC right now, which I plan to give it this weekend! But…we’ve done so much work in the past year and the whole space is coming along. I wanted it to look like a courtyard in Provence so Baldy made a stone and pea gravel space that is so perfect! It was quite a labor of love but he nailed it! I have a Pinterest Board dedicated to French patio spaces that continues to inspire me and I’ll be spending many hours out there digging over the next month. I want a small herb garden, flowers everywhere and a Lady Banks rose climbing all over the gazebo. It’ll be a French fairytale and a beautiful space to entertain!

The look I’m wearing feels right at home here…a butter yellow button up shirt from Brochu Walker, white jeans from Veronica Beard, a lavender sweater casually draped over my shoulders and my favorite sneakers from The Office of Angela Scott. It's the kind of look that works whether you're running errands or sitting in a courtyard pretending you're in Provence…completely wearable from now straight through summer.

"The earth laughs in flowers."

Do you have a outdoor space you're working on this spring, I'd love to hear about it…drop it in the comments and tell me all about it. There's something about this time of year that makes you want to dig in the dirt, fill every pot with something beautiful, and just be outside. That's exactly where I'll be. Come find me in my little French courtyard with my pups, of course!

Thanks so much for reading today!
