8 Winter Outfit Ideas

This past week has been unexpectedly difficult because I’ve been sick! However…I did’t let that stop me! I haven’t really felt bad but I’ve had a terrible nagging cough and whenever I go anywhere people look at me like I have some horrible disease. Because of this, I’ve tried to stay home as much as possible. The other day, I decided to set up my tripod and take a few selfies with different outfits and this is what I came up with! Most of these pieces are things already in my closet combined with new pieces…mostly shoes, that I’ve gotten this season

I purchased these Gucci loafers after trying them on in Paris. I got home and couldn’t get them off my mind, but…I haven’t loved them as much as I thought I would because I’m not sure how to style them. I do like a menswear look, but I want to style them in a more feminine way so I’ll keep playing around with them. I would love to know your thoughts about ideas for these shoes and also what you think of these menswear inspired looks!

One purchase I made at the end of the season last year was this camel coat from Veronica Beard. It was on sale, the quality is impeccable and I know I’ll keep it forever, but…it is very tailored which only contributes to the menswear look here. Maybe a more feminine blouse…like I said, I need to play. I do love the pants I’m wearing here…they are a slim ankle pant from Rag and Bone. They zip up the back and fall just perfectly at my ankle…almost like a legging, but dressier. I find that I reach for them often and they look great with flats and with any kind of heel as well as booties, making them very versatile. Rag and Bone makes these classic pants every year and they’re well worth the investment.

The boyfriend jean is always a popular style I think because it’s so comfortable. This pair from last season from Mother Denim is just slouchy enough without looking too baggy (similar here but with a darker wash). I styled these jeans with stiletto booties from Veronica Beard, a grey sweater from Jenni Kayne (I love this sweater and it comes in so many colors) and my new Quilted Koala bag. This is a great weekend look and the booties could always be switched out for something with a different heel. This pair is similar and I just purchased this pair…both are on sale but sizes are going quickly.

The jeans I’m wearing in this picture look white but are actually off-white. I think a pair of off-white jeans are a good addition to any wardrobe along with a pair of white ones. I’ve added a cropped white long sleeve crew neck tee from Michael Stars, a long grey cardigan from White + Warren and another pair of Veronica Beard booties. My bag is several years old from Lancel Paris and one that I wear often because it’s such a great color. This is such an easy outfit to put together and wear some version of all year long.

When I tell you that this black blouse is probably 20 years old, I’m not kidding! If you have something you love, don’t get rid of it just because it’s old and when you buy quality…it lasts! I’ve worn this blouse every year for something for as long as I can remember and my daughter Rebecca loves to borrow it! This look has a 90’s vibe with the slouchy boots, leggings and long top but I think it’s still really relevant. I added a small evening bag with rhinestones, making this look perfect for a casual New Year’s Eve! I’ve linked as similar as I could find, but maybe you have something in your closet that’s similar!

This outfit was purchased from a local boutique and I looked everywhere for the pants but couldn’t find them! I did find a fabulous pair from Mango (and very affordable) and also found a similar sweater. My Gucci sandals are no longer available but i found another over-the-top pair from Betsey Johnson that you’ll love!

Another basic look with straight leg or boot cut, cropped jeans and a sweater from White + Warren. I purchased this sweater before I went to Germany and wore it so many times while there. I wasn’t able to find the exact tan one but found the same sweater in grey. I love a slightly cropped sweater with high waisted jeans and I do always love a heeled bootie. I hope I can always wear heels!

Years ago, while in New York, I purchased a pair of Jimmy Choo biker boots and absolutely wore them out! I still have them because I can’t bear to part with them! While in New York at the beginning of this month, I was in Bergdorf Goodman with my daughters and saw this pair of very similar Jimmy Choo boots…only better because they’re fur lined. Obviously, I got them and they are so warm and cozy (I found this pair that is kind of similar and much less expensive). I love them with cropped jeans, skinny jeans and leggings! They are the perfect bootie for a cold day and they have a cool biker edge! The striped sweater is from Zara (similar linked), my green bag adds a touch of color and I’m loving the green!

What a year this has been! I’m working on a recap and can’t wait to share the post! Wishing you all a wonderful New Year’s Eve and I can’t wait for 2023 to begin!
