Thanksgiving Edit - Everything You Need for Turkey Day

“What if we were just grateful for everything?” ~ Charley Brown

Thanksgiving is probably my favorite holiday because all there is to do is cook and eat. Of course, there is the grocery shopping and setting the table, but that’s about it! It’s a holiday I really look forward to every year. This year, I’m sad that my youngest daughter and her family (including my grandson, Bristol) won’t be here, but we’ll have to make the best of it even though we’ll miss them. I’m picking up Rebecca (my daughter in Boston) from the airport on Sunday and we’ll do a little shopping and have lunch on the way home and then…it’s time to start the Thanksgiving feast. I’ve decided to make some homemade pies this year and try a few new dishes because…why not?

If the weather is nice enough, we’ll have a fire in the outside fireplace and I’ll serve some hors d’oeuvres and maybe a special cocktail outside while the final preparations are being made inside. I’ll have blankets for anyone who may want to cozy up by the fire and maybe some corn hole for the kids (big and small). I’m planning on getting a little crafty with the table and I’ll share my table later in the week on my live Saturday with Darcy Vandenberg.

I thought it might be fun to do a blog post with some things I think are Thanksgiving essentials and make life easier when it comes to preparing the big meal and keeping the crowd entertained!

I haven’t decided yet what I’m going to wear because we’ve had such crazy weather, but I bought this blouse by Ba&sh Paris with Thanksgiving in mind. It has all the fall colors and just a touch of sparkle which I love.
