The Perfect Jacket from Anine Bing
I first discovered Anine Bing several years ago and have been obsessed ever since! I love the modern timeless look of her pieces which have a minimalist look.
Anine Bing didn't begin her retail career the old-fashioned way…she started as a blogger/influencer which gave her a built-in audience when her clothing line first premiered as an e-commerce-only clothing line. The first boutique opened in LA and in 2015 and she opened her first boutique in New York on Bleeker Street in the West Village. Her brand has since expanded into a global empire with new categories every season. She is proof that you can build a brand on Instagram!
Bing was born in Denmark, grew up in Sweden and moved to Los Angeles at the age of 21 started working in the fashion industry during her teenage years as a model. She started a blog during the online medium's heyday and was on Instagram when it first launched in 2010. Bing had a blog for nine years and grew a large following which helped her to launch her brand. Her first collection was denim, only two pairs, a white T-shirt and a black leather jacket…you don’t get any more classic than that!
The jacket I’m wearing here is one of my favorite pieces ever purchased! I love the sunny yellow color (it also comes in an off-white) and the boxy cut. It’s extremely versatile and looks just as good with wide leg white pants or light wash jeans and combat boots as it does with these dark grey jeans! It will also transition into spring beautifully!
The first pieces I purchased from Anine Bing were a sweatshirt (it’s been on the blog several times) and and one of her iconic tees! If you have your eye on anything…order fast, because these pieces sell out very quickly!
