My Journey of Becoming

Today, before I started to write this blog post, I took a look at my blog analytics. I like to see what people are looking at and that gives me insight into the most popular posts. Today, aside from food, I noticed that the most popular click was on my Journey of Becoming program (it’s inactive at the moment). It made me pause and wonder if I should pivot a little and write more about my life and story on the blog, or even bring the program back!?

If you’re new here, you may not know that I started Crazy Blonde Life during a particularly difficult period of my life. My marriage was in trouble, my daughters were in college or grown and living their own lives and I was very unhappy. After reaching a really low point…I started working on myself…reading, meditating and journaling.

Slowly, very slowly, I began to pull myself out of a dark place through the inner work I was doing. I realized that the common denominator in all my problems was…me! I also realized that if my life was going to get better, I had to take responsibility for my part in my unhappiness and decide to change going forward. This little blog, became a place for me to write and share everything I was going through as well as my passions for food, fashion and decor and I’ve often said that it saved me in a way.

As I was reading back over some of the modules of my Journey of Becoming program, it took me back to that time in my life where I took responsibility for everything that had gone wrong and dedicated myself to creating a life I could be proud of.

My life is much different now, but I will admit that over the past couple of years, I’ve gotten away from the dedication I had to meditation, reading and journaling. I’ve poured myself into my work and those things have taken a back seat. As I was reading, I began to miss my mornings of quiet meditation and writing.

Starting the day in stillness is such a beautiful practice! I believe the answers to our problems lie in the stillness. When we can stop our endless stream of thoughts and just listen, the Universe has a way of stepping in to give us exactly what we’re looking for (or what we need) and I am living proof of that! It’s nearly impossible to gain clarity when our minds are spinning out of control. We have to plug into divine guidance instead of relying on ourselves.

Nothing in life is random and I know that it was no accident that I decided to take a look at my analytics this morning. It’s time for me to get back to my meditation and the practices that pulled me out of a dark place. It’s time for me to begin to accept the guidance that’s waiting for me and see where it leads. I’m sure there are “better things ahead than any I have left behind”!

So, in light of all of this, I decided to share an excerpt from the Journey of Becoming program with you today…as well as the cute outfit that I had planned to share! I hope you enjoy…keep scrolling!

This excerpt is from Day 28 of the 30 day program. It’s one of my favorites!

I’m sure you know that you have the ability to create a ripple effect beyond what you can imagine. When others watch you transform your life and step into your power, you inspire them to do the same! I know I’m not alone in having a story that others can relate to in some way.

When I stopped being embarrassed about past events in my life and began to share, it changed me. My story was no longer something that lived inside of me and haunted me every day. It became something that connected me to other women. It became a gift that I could share with the world.

I turned my pain into my purpose. I realized that my real problem wasn’t my life, it was my perception of my life. The only way I could turn things around was to change my perception. Nothing else could change until my perception changed and then…everything started to change!

We all have unique gifts to give and a story that deserves to be shared. So many women are lonely and longing for community. Our emotions tie us together and bond us when we share them with love.

Everyone is walking their own path and you never know what someone is going through on the inside…we women can hide things so beautifully sometimes!

I want to encourage you to make a decision today to be the woman you want to be. When you make this decision with unwavering conviction…the Universe will guide you in ways you never imagined. The choice is yours every day. Who will you be…

You can be the woman who finally breaks the old patterns and creates a new life.

You can be the woman who unites instead of separating.

You can be the woman who chooses to forgive.

You can be the woman who inspires others.

You can be the woman who steps up.

You can be the woman who believes in possibility.

You can be the example.

You can be the woman who feels pride in what she’s accomplished!

You can be the woman who starts a ripple effect that will change the world.

Who will you choose to be?

Life isn’t always easy and will never be perfect, but the choice we always have is how we react. When we cultivate an inner peace, we’re much more likely on a daily basis to be the woman we want to be…it’s always a choice!

I’ve written a little about this before, but one of the reasons I began to focus more on fashion here on Crazy Blonde Life is because fashion allows me to monetize the blog. Blogging, along with posting on social media is very time consuming and expensive. In order to keep things rolling, I need to be able to pay for it all and make some money in the process…it also takes a lot of time to keep this up!

Going forward, I would like to have more a mix of these inspirational posts, fashion posts, Amazon and food posts. I know I’ve grown in so many ways since the beginning of my blogging journey and through it all, I’ve tried to maintain a standard of good photography and quality posting…though lately, I may not have shared as much of myself as in the beginning.

If you like this mix of inspiration, fashion, food, Amazon and a little travel thrown in, I’m asking for your support. By reading, commenting, and sharing the blog, I gain insight, followers and honestly…the desire to continue…so please let me know your thoughts and share if you particularly like a post and please shop through my links if you see something you want to purchase!

And now…a little about my outfit…it’s such a simple look, but one of my favorites. The white blouse is from Hill House and it’s a slightly cropped length with a balloon sleeve…giving it so much style and personality! It’s perfect paired with dark wash flare jeans from Mother, cream loafers and a tan tote bag (similar here). The loafers are several years old and these are very similar. The gorgeous statement cross necklace was made by my friend Julie Miles and my gold bangle bracelets are from Julie Vos! This is a look that will take you most anywhere! Everything is linked in the boutique below as well as in my LTK Storefront!

Our lives are created by decisions we make on a moment-to-moment basis and often those decisions are based on an endless stream of thoughts that come from conditioning and habits. Meditation (spending intentional time in silence) can help us break patterns of conditioning and make us aware of our habitual thinking so that we are able to make better decisions and as a result create a better life. It sounds so simple…doesn’t it?

If you’ve read this far…wow I’m impressed and honored! So…one more thing! I’m going to be live on Instagram tomorrow evening at 6:30 with my friend D’Arcy Vandenberg. We try to go live once a month, but summer is hard because of travel, etc so we’re trying to get back to our regular schedule. Anyway…we talk about so many things and just chat with whoever has joined. We never know where the conversation will lead but it’s always fun so I hope you’ll join us!

I know this was a long post and totally unexpected for me, but I followed my heart this morning! And…as usual, be sure to check out my Amazon post!

Thanks for reading today!

~XOXO Suzanne
