Cacao is the purest form of chocolate you can consume.  It is raw and less processed than cocoa.  It is one of the highest sources of antioxidants of all foods and it is a great source for magnesium.  Cacao also makes smoothies taste fantastic!  This Banana & Cacao Smoothie is an instant pick me up and much better than coffee.  The banana combined with the chocolate flavor of the cacao is a win/win for flavor!

Cacao powder contains more fiber and calories than cocoa powder since the nutrients from the whole bean are still intact.  It is an excellent source of nutrients, including monounsaturated fats, vitamins, minerals, fiber and protein!


You may not be familiar with Maca powder.  Maca powder is rich in vitamin B, C, and E.  It also provides calcium, zinc, iron, magnesium, phosphorous and amino acids.  It is known for increasing energy and stamina.  It is taken by athletes for peak performance.  Maca supplies iron and helps restore red blood cells which aids in cardiovascular diseases.  It helps keep bones and teeth healthy and allows wounds to heal more quickly.  Maca is taken for skin issues such as acne and skin sensitivity.  Wow!!  Maca is truly a superfood!


Place all ingredients for smoothie in a blender and blend until smooth!


Pour into a glass and enjoy!
