With A Grateful Heart

I got the sweetest comment on Instagram today and it really stopped me in my tracks! It said: β€œBeen following you due to my mini mid life crisis and you have made me embrace style and grace again and life rocks! Thank you thank you! You are stunning and such an inspiration!”

I have to say…that comment is what it’s all about for me. There are times when I think that no one wants to see another picture of me and then I regroup, do something a little different and try to come back with more creativity! I love to put outfits together and cook and decorate, but what I love most is knowing that someone is encouraged by what I’m doing. I’m sincerely trying to get up every day and make the most of my life. I’m following my passion with blogging and it’s pretty amazing! Some of the circumstances of my life over the past 4 years have certainly not encouraged happiness or passion or much of anything else, but those circumstances were outside of me and what counts is what’s inside of me! There have also been many amazing times as I was going through difficult times and I will always get up and keep living and doing and trying to make the most of my life even on the days when it’s hard. The truth is, that the more you get up when it’s hard, the easier it is to get up! Absolutely everything you need is inside…it’s just about bringing it back to life.

As I’ve said before, midlife can be such a difficult time. It’s almost sometimes like we’ve been left behind as women and it can feel that our best days are behind us, but I really don’t believe that is true! I believe that our best days are ahead! It’s this time in life when we become free to explore ideas and focus on the things that make our hearts sing. We can indulge passions, explore and be curious. Some days…like today, for me - life just hands you a gift and you never know what form it will come in but it’s important to be paying attention!

I want to sincerely thank everyone who reads my blog every day, and all of you who have supported me through ups and downs and thick and thin! I have so much to be thankful for! Thank you thank you!
