Art of the Undone

I recently wrote a Substack post about Undone Elegance…or what I strive for in my everyday style. Elegant, but not too thought out in an undone way…a tee half tucked into my jeans paired with pearls and a vintage fur found at a consignment store with suede booties. A lace top with a suede jacket and tailored pants, maybe paired with loafers. The style I’m going for is not too thought out, but the trick is having a closet full of pieces I love that reflect my personality on any given day. These pieces don’t have to be expensive or designer…just pieces I love and will wear.

Yes, the collages in the post are from Amazon, but as I say nearly every time I publish a post…be inspired by the items in the collages and then, shop your closet! If you love one of these collages, replicate it the best you can with what you have and then shop if you need a few pieces to fill in!

Undone is clearly not perfect, but it’s interesting…it’s about wearing those 25 year old boots with a new pair of jeans and sweater and feeling so good. It’s about a silk shirt half tucked into jeans…a strand of pearls worn with a tee shirt…a vintage fur found at a consignment store. It’s about adding a necklace that may be a little much but still looks great and makes a statement. It’s about mixing high and low and not caring. It’s about taking “fashion risks” and being bold. Mostly, it’s about being who you are and trusting the woman you have become to carry the clothes and loving every second. If you haven’t already, take a minute to read my Substack…I think it’s a pretty good read and you may find some inspiration!!
