When the Tree Steals the Show
The backdrop for these pictures is our stunning Japanese Maple tree, which is one of the most special features of our front yard. It’s huge and so beautifully shaped, with leaves that are always the last to fall each year. I think it waits until all the other leaves have fallen so it will have all the attention!
As the leaves turn, the colors go through the most incredible color transformations, making the tree look almost illuminated. We’ve even been told it’s unique enough that we should consider insuring it. Its presence adds so much character to our home! It’s a perfect climbing tree for our grandchildren and it felt like an ideal setting for these photos featuring the cutest and very affordable faux fur jacket from Social Threads.

The jeans I’m wearing here are from a new to me company called Still Here! They are a 100% cotton classic jean with a relaxed leg, mid rise, and a button fly…they are so comfortable and meant to be worn everyday. I should probably hem them about an inch but I can’t stop wearing them long enough to take them to my alterations lady and honestly, I don’t mind the length so much because I can also wear them with a pair of boots.
I ordered the little gold mesh flats that I’m wearing here back in April and I’ve been surprised at how often I’ve worn then! The weather here has been fairly mild and I thought they added a festive touch to this look and…they’re so comfortable, not to mention affordable!
