Four Spring Outfit Ideas
Real clothes for a beautiful ordinary life…
Most of us live an ordinary life. We're not jetting off to Paris or Prague (okay maybe occasionally), or attending galas or dressing for occasions that don't exist. We're living in our houses, running our errands, having lunch with friends, puttering in the garden. And I believe that's exactly the life worth dressing for!
These four outfits are what that looks like for me this spring!
This top from Emily McCarthy made me do a double take! The puff sleeves, the pink and red color combo, the stripe... it's a lot in the best possible way. White skinny flare jeans from Veronica Beard, woven platform sandals from Steve Madden and a rattan bag (similar here) plus pink sunnies…done! Wear this when you want to stand out!
A black tee and a white linen midi skirt…don’t overthink this one because it just works. I got this skirt last season from Aligne and never wore it because I was overthinking it but when I added a simple black tee, it all came together! The zebra mules are from Schutz and sadly no longer available (similar and fabulous linked below). The shoes add so much interest to this easy but elegant look and, a white bag and black sunnies complete the look! I’ve accessorized with fabulous VAHAN jewelry. This look is crisp and easy! Perfect for lunch with friends (in Paris or where you live)!
I paired a navy sweater vest and braided belt from Paige that I found while we were in Charleston with wide leg jeans from Citizens of Humanity with a zebra rattan bag from Loeffler Randall. My shoes are older Gucci platforms but I’ve linked some similar pairs below and one over the top pair from Alexandre Birman that are so gorgeous! But honestly…the belt and the bag are the whole story here!
This look is so easy, but actually, well thought out! The tan short sleeve cardigan is from Perfect White Tee and is paired with looser fitting jeans from Still Here. The jeans are nipped at the waist and slightly fitted through the hips so they work well with the boxier cardigan. I added the Roger Vivier leopard sling backs and a more structured bag (similar here) to dress things up a bit. This is a perfect look for a day when you want to be casual but still look really put together!
Four outfits, one closet, one very patient dog…this is what dressing for your actual life looks like... not a fantasy version of it, but the one you're living right now. And honestly, that life looks pretty good.
Thanks so much for reading today!
