Golden Shoes & Autumn Views

Although Labor Day weekend feels like the end of summer and normally the weather is still very hot, but here in North Carolina we’ve had an unexpected reprieve from the heat… a few days of cool, humidity-free mornings and evenings and glorious sunshine that makes us all ready for the fall season. I don’t want to rush things too much though because I know that the last part of the year will fly by and the holidays will be here before we have a chance to blink. I’m doing my best to remember to stay in the moment and enjoy this beautiful season!

These pictures were taken by a beautiful lake near my house and the day was perfect! I’m wearing an outfit from a brand called Livro that I discovered several years ago in a small boutique on Bald Head Island. It features a striped skirt and black top paired with gold Mary Jane Oxford loafers (the Miss AmΓ©lie) from The Office of Angela Scott…another brand that I’ve been loving for a while now! This whimsical remake of the classic Mary Jane, is Parisian-inspired and evokes a certain β€œje ne sais quoi”! I think these fabulous shoes are just what my wardrobe has been missing and I’m planning to wear them everywhere with everything!

Against the backdrop of a quiet lake and weathered stone wall, this look feels timeless, elegant and perfect for fall. When I got dressed, I felt a bit like Julie Andrews in The Sound of Music!

Livro, founded by Lindsay Cunningham in 2020, creates pieces with a story, using fabrics that are hand-blocked in India β€” each pattern is a work of art! These pieces are so wearable and they make everyday feel special.

The Office of Angela Scott, is a woman-owned company that brings that same dedication to craftsmanship into footwear. The shoes are made in Portugal by fifth-generation cobblers, following an old-world process of more than 200 meticulous steps, resulting in shoes designed to be cherished for years.

Together, Livro’s artisanal details and Angela Scott’s heirloom-quality shoes create a look that is classic, enduring and a bit unexpected!

A fabulous calf hair handbag from Tory Burch that I purchased while in New York completes the look!

Many of the pieces I tried to link (including the black top I’m wearing here) are sold out or almost sold out, but be sure to put your name on the list to be notified when things are back in stock! Livro clothing is very well priced and the quality is amazing!

One of my goals for the last quarter of 2025 is to start wearing my clothes…not just for pictures or when I’m going somewhere, but everyday…for myself! When I take the time to get dressed it makes for a better day!

This post was so much fun to create because I’m in love with these brands and the whole look! I love to support women owned businesses that make amazing products!

Thanks so much for reading today!

~XOXO Suzanne
