Ideas for a Cozy Season - This & That

The holiday season is basically here and it is always such a busy time! it can be hard to remember self care while you’re running around shopping, cooking, decorating and wrapping presents. Even though its a hectic time, try to carve out a little time for yourself and enjoy a few relaxing moments!

Create a Routine for Morning and Evening!

Imagine taking a few moments to apply luxurious skincare, crawling into bed wearing a great pair of comfy pajamas, lighting a beautifully scented candle, looking through an inspiring coffee table book…then sliding on a sleeping mask and falling back into a silk pillowcase for 8 hours of blissful rest! In the morning, fill the house with the smell of fresh muffins that only take moments to mix together! You’ll be well rested and ready for whatever the day brings!

Slow Down and Bake Cookies

Vanilla Bean Christmas Light Cookies via Half Baked Harvest - There is nothing quite like the scent of cookies baking in the oven! These are too cute and easy so I’m planning to make this a Sunday afternoon activity with my grandsons! Make these cookies ahead and freeze them for neighbor gifts or for cookies for Santa on Christmas Eve!

Light a New Seasonal Candle

Spiced Pomander Candle

Lafco New York - $70

I recently purchased this candle and it has become one of my favorite for the season! It has a beautiful warm, welcoming scent and it looks so pretty on the console in our entry!

Get Organized with Closet Essentials

A closet full of essentials make getting dressed in the morning easier! All of the items above mix and match endlessly with pieces already in your closet! You’ll love how effortless it is to pick out an outfit when you add these pieces to your closet.

Make a Charcuterie Board for Easy Entertaining or for Yourself!

I made a fall charcuterie board last weekend for my grandson’s birthday party (the kids love this as much as the adults). I added seasonal elements such as pomegranate, mini pears and garnished the board with pansies (which are edible). It didn’t last long at the party!

Take a Night off and Watch Something Good on Netflix

We started watching The Empress on Netflix last week and are hooked! The scenery and decor are beautiful and the suspense is real! I highly recommend this for binge watching!

Consider a Weekend Getaway!

Garrick and I are staying at the historic Blackburn Inn over this weekend and loving every minute! It’s a much needed retreat! Today, we’ll be having a picnic on the property, taking a drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway, going into the darling town of Staunton, taking a tour of a local winery and having a delicious dinner! Be sure to check out The Blackburn Inn and consider a visit! There will definitely be a blog post coming soon about our weekend!
