Early Fall Style, Blueberry Muffins & Puppy Love
This post started out as a fashion post about the darling dress Iβm wearing in the pictures, but it took a turn and I ended up talking about all kinds of thingsβ¦read on!
I would love to say that I spent the afternoon in my backyard gazebo, sipping wine with my two golden doodles, Archie and Amos, while wearing the sweetest knit navy and white mini dress from Milly. Howeverβ¦the truth is, I went outside to the gazebo with my photographer to take pictures of this cute little dressβ¦I took a glass of wine and of course, the dogs came along!
Fitted through the bodice with a flare at the waist, itβs such a flattering dress and feels just right for a warm early fall day. I paired it with a white Veronica Beard white bag and Marc Fisher rattan platform sandals for an easy, polished look (see more below about the new ideas in fashion for carrying white bags anytime).
This outfit is classic yet relaxed and perfect for a casual moment at home or for wearing out! It looks like the perfect Sunday brunch dress to me! Get my favorite Blueberry Muffin recipe hereβ¦theyβre perfect for brunch! Alsoβ¦keep scrolling for a little interesting history of our gazebo!
There are absolutely no rules about carrying a white bag in winter anymoreβ¦fashion stylists today say itβs fully okay to wear white accessories any time of year and Iβm not mad about it because white goes with everything! Read this article from In Style for more on wearing white anytime of year!
I know Iβve written about our little gazebo before, but for those who are new to Crazy Blonde Life, you may enjoy the history of the gazebo.
Construction on our home started in 1929 but was slightly interrupted by the βbank holidayβ and the house was completed in 1933 so it is almost 100 years old! Originally the lot the house was on was much larger, but a portion was sold in the 1960s and another home was built on that lot. At one time, the lot had tennis courts on it and the gazebo was built as part of the outdoor area surrounding the tennis courts. There was also once a fish pond next to the gazebo but we replaced the pond with a fireplace in 2014 and have enjoyed it so much! The gazebo has been used to display wedding cakes for two of our daughterβs weddings and is such a quaint little spot to sit when the weather is warm. Itβs showing some signs of age and tree roots have cracked the floor so weβre planning a little redo this fall to spruce it up a bit.
As some of you know, we had planned to renovate the house and make the kitchen larger but after the nightmare of remodeling our bathroom and bedroom, we have decided to put it off for a bit and enjoy what weβve done. That renovation took almost a year, and took a huge tole on my mental health and Iβm just not ready to do it again yet. Although most of the problem was our contractor, and we will definitely use a different one for the kitchenβ¦just the thought of tearing something out right now makes me feel a little nauseous! We have decided to paint the cabinets in the kitchen, get some new bar stools and give it a mini face lift!
The reason Iβm telling you all of this is because the kitchen plans call for tearing down the gazebo and that seems a little sad to me right now! Iβm feeling nostalgic for simpler times I guess!
Itβs hard to believe our puppy Archie will be a year old on October 18β¦it seems like just yesterday that he was delivered at 9 pounds! Heβs 24 pounds now and as big as heβll get! Heβs definitely become part of our family and we love him so much. Heβs a little more mischievous than Amos ever was so we have to watch him, but heβs cute and lovingβ¦and very entertaining!

Thank you for reading todayβ¦I hope youβve enjoyed this post!
