March Madness

"Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast."

~From Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll

I added the Lewis Carroll above because I feel if there was ever a time to imagine impossible things…it’s right now! Spring always offers a time to renew…just as the earth begins to renew, we can also follow suit and think about how we can feed our curiosity, declutter our minds and our spaces, let go of habits that are no longer serving us and how we can experience the renewal that spring brings. It’s a time of hope and a permission slip to shed what's heavy and bloom into something new!

Yesterday, I mentioned a bit about how crazy this month is turning out to be but I’m leaning into it and I’m sure that when I look back, it’ll be full of the best memories. Of course, as I’m planning and executing everything, I’ll be thinking about what I’ll be wearing, cooking and adding to the house for that very important spring refresh! I’ll also be doing my best to make time for dog walks in the park, arranging flowers and enjoying the beautiful sunshine!

I’ve made a commitment to purchase as much food locally as possible and today, I’m driving to Saxapahaw NC to pick up an order from Left Bank Butchery. Left bank is a small butcher that uses the whole animal so nothing goes to waste and everything is extremely local. Evidently it’s been ranked as one of the top ten butchers in the country…go figure! I’m excited to have a few things in the freezer that I can pull out over the next several weeks and also happy to be supporting local farmers!

On the menu for tonight is a Creamy Parmesan Spinach Orzo with Chicken Meatballs. We’ll be working inside and outside all day to get ready for my daughters party and the photoshoot that’s coming up very soon! I’m sure we’ll be hungry and this dish sounds easy and delicious! Don’t worry…the recipe will be on Crazy Blonde Life tomorrow! I’m also going live on Instagram tomorrow and I’ll be making a fabulous noodle recipe with Asian flavors…ginger, hoisin and garlic combined with ground beef! I’ll announce the time on my Instagram stories tomorrow morning so be sure to take a look and please follow me if you’re not already!

I’m also looking for a few new asparagus recipes so I can take advantage of the fresh local asparagus! I’ll keep you posted on that one!

I’m trying to decide what to wear for my daughter’s party on Friday. It looks like it’ll be the one cool day of the week so that’s kind of throwing a kink in my plans! I have a beautiful spring coat that may be just perfect with white jeans because the high is only 59 that day! It’s crazy how the temps will be in the 70s and 80s ever other day! I’m sure I’ll be running around so much that I’ll be hot anyway!

I have my eye on a couple of bags that will go with nearly everything through the spring and summer! This raffia one from Cult Gaia will be perfect with everything from jeans to dresses because it’s polished but neutral. I’m also looking at this golden yellow one from Ulla Johnson…it seems that any color yellow is trending for spring and how perfect!

My girls and I have a fun photo shoot coming up and our outfits need to coordinate. I’m looking for something really feminine and light and loving these gorgeous pants that are so classic and look like Carolina Herrera! There’s also a matching blouse that would make the most amazing outfit! More on the photo shoot later but it’s going to be really special!

I’ve been looking for a pair of leopard shoes recently because they are the ultimate neutral and will add pizzaz to my spring and summer looks! I think these leopard sling backs are a great keep-forever option because they’re so classic! And…you know I’ve been wearing this denim jacket nonstop! It’s the perfect light layer for a casual spring look!

And…my since birthday is coming up the first of May, I’ve already ordered this top to wear and I want these fancy jeans to go with it! I’m thinking I want to go out for a fancy dinner and eat chocolate cake for dessert! Alternately, I’d love to go here for a few days and I’m going to drop a few hints! I do also have my eye on this gorgeous bracelet from Lizzy Fortunato!

I had someone ask for recommendations for fragrances for women over 40 and I do have a few that I love! You all know if you’ve been reading my blog for a while that I’ve worn Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir for a very long time and i still love it! Recently, I discovered the Dries Van Noten Scents and I’ve talked about how good the Crazy Basil scent smells but I also love the Vanille Camouflage scent. They’re a little pricy but last for a long time! If you’re looking for a really fresh clean scent that’s more on the affordable scent, I would recommend Morning Light Eau ParfumΓ©e Spray from Brochu Walker. It also comes in a travel size and a candle! I was also recently gifted a fragrance from Nopelera and it came yesterday. I received the travel spray and the fragrance combines violet and amber with copal, vanilla, and sandalwood. It’s very light and nice!

It was also time to replenish some of my makeup and I purchased several products from Westman Atelier including the viral Hydrabalm Lipstick in the shade Ballerine, the Vital Skin Foundation Stick in shade IV and the Vital Skincare Complexion Drops. This should carry me through the summer!

And as you know…I’ve been doing a few decor projects and I have my eye on this mirror! I think it’ll be perfect for a space in our hallway! I promise a blog post about all of this is coming soon…as soon as it’s completed!

I’m linking everything from this post in the boutique below plus a few other things that caught my eye! Let me know if you have any questions!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and thanks so much for reading! As always I love your comments!

~XOXO Suzanne
