Some Days You Just Want Simple
Simple Never Looked So Good
As I’m sure you know by now…I am, at my core, a maximalist. More is more….color, pattern, layers, that's my natural language.
So when I got dressed the other day and reached for a black sweater vest and a white blouse, I kind of surprised myself, and for whatever reason, on that particular morning, simple was exactly what I needed.
The world is a lot right now and I don't have to tell you that, so some days the noise is so constant and so heavy that even I, the woman who once wore leopard print with a poppy blouse without a second thought, just wanted to put on something quiet that didn’t feel like too much!
This outfit is quiet, but still me…a little downtown boho… made up of elements I love - an older black sweater vest that’s a bit oversized, layered over a crisp white blouse. my beloved Veronica Beard Beverly jeans because they fit beautifully, and my Paris Texas black suede western style booties, because even on a simple day, your shoes should have some personality.
That's essentially it…I can do simple, just can't do boring.
So the long gold chain with the jade medallion that I’ve had for absolutely ever came out, because a great long necklace always makes a statement. My Ulla Johnson off-white bag that I got on sale over the summer adds some lightness to this basic look and really pulls the outfit together!
This outfit shows a quieter version of me that's been watching the news a little too much and needed to breathe.
The maximalist in me will be back tomorrow, I'm sure because she never stays quiet for long.
But for today…simple felt like exactly enough.

The necklace I’m wearing above is very old and I can’t link it but I’ve linked two fabulous ones below that I have my eye on from Lizzy Fortunato! Be sure to check out the website because there are some fabulous pieces there!
Some days, at least for me, it’s okay to wear the simple pieces and call it a day. A really good day!
Thanks so much for reading today!
