The Tory Burch Renaissance
Why I'm Loving This Brand More Than Ever
My daughter and I were in New York over the summer and stopped into the Tory Burch store. It had been a while since I'd been in one, and I was really impressed with what I saw. The brand looked completely different to meβ¦everything felt intentional and thoughtfully designed. What I noticed most was how few pieces had logos on them, which I loved. I ended up buying a bag for myself that I've been carrying all the time, one for my daughter, and of course, made a mental note of a few things for my wish list. That visit got me thinking about what had changed at Tory Burch, and it turns out, quite a lot has.
My instincts were rightβ¦the brand really has stepped up its game in recent years, and there's actually a name for itβ¦the fashion world is calling it the "Toryssance," which is so appropriate. The transformation started during the pandemic when Tory stepped back and asked herself some hard questions about where her brand was headed. She'd built an incredibly successful empire, but somewhere along the way, it had become less about her personal vision and more about churning out products with that recognizable logo.
The turning point came when she stepped down as CEO in 2019 to focus purely on design. Smart move. Her Spring 2021 collection was like a breath of fresh airβ¦minimalist, thoughtful, and so much more sophisticated than the preppy, logo-heavy pieces the brand had become known for. Instead of those predictable prints and obvious branding, she's now creating pieces with incredible materials and unexpected details. We're talking sequined fringe, textured leathers, and silhouettes that feel both timeless and completely modern. The craftsmanship has gone way up, and yes, so have the prices, but you can actually see where your money is going.
What I love most is that she's managed to evolve without completely abandoning what made people fall in love with Tory Burch in the first place. The pieces are still wearable and functional, but now they have this elevated, quiet luxury vibe that feels so right for where fashion is headed. Things like the Pierced Pump and the new Romy bag have gone viral for good reasonβ¦they're beautiful, well-made, and versatile without screaming for attention. And apparently, the fashion world agrees - Tory Burch saw a massive surge in popularity and dominated social media engagement at New York Fashion Week. It's proof that when you focus on quality and design over logo saturation, people noticeβ¦and they respond.
Iβm including a few of my favorite pieces from Tory Burch but be sure to take a look at the website to see the entire collection because itβs amazing!
If you haven't checked out Tory Burch lately, I highly recommend taking a fresh look. Whether you're drawn to the new Romy bag, those viral Pierced pumps, or any of the beautifully crafted ready-to-wear pieces, there's something really special happening with this brand right now. It's a perfect example of how stepping back, refocusing on quality and design (sounds like what Iβm doing), and letting go of what's not working can completely revitalize a brand and win over customers all over again!
