Why Show Up Every Day?

Baby Bristol - Crazy Blonde Life

I have a sincere desire to help people in so many ways. That’s part of the reason I started this blog. I needed to help myself and sometimes the way you help yourself is to start helping others. In the beginning, I was afraid of what people would think, but I did it anyway. At that point in time, I was the talk of the town anyway, so I figured I really had very little to loose.

Fast forward to today, almost six years later, and still...every time I make a change to the blog, decide to write a post that touches my heart and hopefully yours, I still worry (for some reason), what people will think. But…it rarely stops me because I know that if I can help one person, it’s all worth it! It’s worth the judgment of whoever may think I’m silly or wrong or oversharing. I’ll say this…if you’re judging, your certainly not helping anyone, much less yourself!

I think it’s important to show up and share and we…as midlife women, have so much power and so much wisdom to share.

If we could all get our shit together and realize how powerful we are, we could be such a positive force in this world. Instead, we sometimes flounder around, wondering what in the world to do with ourselves and wondering “what’s next”. That’s the reason I’ve started to write more of these posts about things that have helped me. We are all human, we all have bad days, life will never, ever be perfect and all smelly good roses all the time, BUT…we have the power inside of us to inspire, to share who we are individually and to show up in the world fully.

I believe we all have the power of the entire Universe within us. We are made in the image and likeness of God, meaning that God created us with the power of the Universe, as individuals expressions of that power. We are responsible for finding out what that means…who are we…what do we uniquely have to share and how can we share it…not as someone else does, but as ourselves. That’s our job…period. What do you have to share? If you can figure this out, you’ll be happier, more fulfilled, healthier and you’ll be helping others so much more than if you show up as a watered down version of who you really are. Let’s show our daughters and sons and the world that midlife can be a wonderful, productive and important time in life and as women, we have something important to say!

That’s all…I just had that on my heart and wanted to share.
