The More the Better

When it comes to interiors, my philosophy is…the more the better! I love color and beautiful, interesting objects that my eyes can land on! Often, when putting the finishing touches on a room, I start with coffee table books…books about fashion, decor, lifestyle, flowers and anything else that interests me. It’s important that I look around a room and see a reflection of things I love, things that Baldy and I have purchased together and a see a reflection of who we are as a couple and a family.
Not long ago, I discovered Summer Thornton in the pages of Veranda Magazine (yes I still love to look at magazines) and fell in love with her whimsical decor. Summer Thornton is the owner of Summer Thornton Design in Chicago.
Summer Thorntonis known for fearlessly bold and colorful interiors that give homes life! Regularly named one of the top 50 interior designers in the world by 1st Dibs, her work has been featured in Architectural Digest, Elle Decor, Veranda, House Beautiful, Traditional Home, The Wall Street Journal, NY Times, and more.
I immediately followed her on Instagram and pre-ordered several copies of her new book…Wonderland, Adventures in Decorating! Since my book arrived, I have poured over it every night before going to bed…causing me to dream of ways to decorate and redecorate our home! It’s really been quite some time since I recovered chairs and changed things up and I’ve been itching to start a few projects! I’m so inspired now and can’t wait to get started…I’ve actually already ordered fabric and I’m planning several projects that will begin soon! I’ll keep you posted because I’m so excited I can hardly stand it!
The title Wonderland is based on Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland (one of my favorites) and is filled with quotes from Lewis Carroll which are so perfect!
