10 Quick Ways to Begin to Feel Unstuck

Happy Weekend!

I hope you enjoy reading this post! I wrote this list of 10 ways to get unstuck several months ago for a podcast I was a guest on. While I realize that we all want a quick fix, I don’t believe this list is a substitute for really taking the time to do the work to heal yourself and come to a healthier place. This takes time and consistent practice…meditating, journaling, hiring a mentor or coach and living intentionally as often as possible.

However, this list is a good place to begin realizing your innate worth and start the journey of becoming who you are at your essence. Take the time to get to know and love yourself! You will never regret it!

10 Quick Ways to Feel Happier and Begin to Feel Less Stuck…

Look back at pictures in your phone from a fun vacation or family time.  By doing this, you realize how blessed you really are. Getting unstuck starts with gratitude…always!

Create a private Pinterest board…pin anything that you’re interested in without giving it too much thought and then look back and see what the patterns are.  This is great if you’re trying to figure out what you love to do!  Sometimes, we get so busy we don’t even know what we’re passionate about!

List 10 things you’re grateful for…I’m not talking about “I’m grateful for my dog”.  If your dog is on the list, really elaborate - “I’m thankful for my sweet pup that cuddles me in the morning and greets me at the door every day.”  Another could be - I’m grateful for the warm sunshine that lets me know spring is coming.”  Make this a true gratitude exercise. Remember I said that it all starts with gratitude!

Put your attention on even the smallest good things in your life…that attention will cause you to attract more of good into your life.  Say to yourself “Everything is happening for my good and in my favor”.  Remember you get more of what you focus on.  Worry is a prayer for what you do not want and everything happens for a reason. There is no need to ask why because it doesn’t matter.

Don’t wallow in the why.  Instead of asking why, find the lesson (the golden nugget) and ask “what now?”.

See yourself as a Divine Goddess (because you are). Then…add more Goddess - instead of beating yourself for all things you’re not doing right, remember your inner Goddess and act accordingly.  Add some self care…drink a glass of water and eat a salad for lunch.  Light a candle and do 10 minutes of yoga or meditation.  Make a cup of tea and really taste it.  Buy some fresh flowers for your home.  Decide when you get up to be very intentional with your time. Stay present for your life.

Check your posture and remember who the heck you are.  There is no one else like you and you are here for a reason…give yourself a pep talk!  I do this all the time!  Don’t criticize yourself, encourage yourself.  Every moment is a chance to begin again.

Put yourself in a different environment.  There are days when you just need to get away from your office, your home, your family.  Go to a coffee shop, restaurant, or see a movie alone.  Enjoy your own company.

Declutter your space…I feel so much better everything is in order.

Do just one small thing that will get you closer to something you want.  Progress always makes you feel happier.  Remember it’s all about the journey…not the destination!

My Journey of Becoming Program starts again on August 30 and this time it is entirely video with homework and recorded meditations. I am continually improving this program as I learn and grow. You can get the details here!
