Why Your Travel Outfit Should Never Be an Afterthought

Travel in comfort and style…

Yesterday, we left Florida in sunshine and landed in North Carolina, greeted by rain and cold! If you've ever made this kind of temperature jump, you know…your outfit either works or it doesn't. This one worked pretty well.

As I was getting dressed yesterday morning, I considered that I still wanted to look appropriate for the weather while we had lunch in Florida after checking out of the hotel but I knew I didn’t want to be cold when we arrived at the airport in North Carolina! Who knew we would be delayed and it would be after 11 PM before we got home…flying isn’t what it used to be! So…I decided on a striped v-neck cropped tee from Perfect White Tee (so soft) and off-white jeans and a longer denim jacket from Veronica Beard (similar here and below in the boutique). This is nothing revolutionary, but it’s a good classic combination. I threw a camel cardigan from J. Crew in my tote for when we landed and added fun statement jewelry from Julie Miles along with my Hart Necklaces and leopard sneakers (similar here) to spice up the look! I’m really loving the layered necklace look lately and I think it totally worked with this look! My new leopard sneakers are comfortable enough for airport sprints and long walks, but they also make the whole outfit look thought out! The fabulous tote from Quilted Koala held everything I needed for the trip, including a last minute gift from the hotel for my grandson! After all…doesn’t every little boy need an aligator jacket?

I love to read on a plane and I’m reading The Magnificent Lives of Marjorie Post for book club! It’s so good and I’m almost finished! Marjorie Post was an heiress, businesswoman, collector, philanthropist…a woman who lived multiple extraordinary lives in one lifetime. I would highly recommend! It’s so much better to read on the plane than to scroll through Instagram!

So back to the outfit…it works because it’s comfortable, layered for temperature changes and it’s chic…what more could you ask for?

I love to travel but I also love coming home! I’m sitting in the bed working with my two lazy pups curled up beside me and I couldn’t be happier! But…I have quite a list of things to catch up on so I’m off to unpack and get on with my day! I hope you all have a great week!
