I’ll Follow the Sun
"For tomorrow may rain, so I'll follow the sun"
There is no feeling like the first days of spring when the sun literally kisses your face!
Yesterday was one of those perfect spring days…the sun was shining and the sky was perfectly blue. The warmth felt like pure heaven to me!
Our garden is bursting with color, and when I look out into the woods next to our house, I see daffodils everywhere…the old, wild ones that keep multiplying each year, all different, and I have no idea how they got there…they are magical and mysterious. I love to venture deep into the woods and pick as many as possible to bring inside to arrange into a vase of sunshine. Everything, it seems, is turning toward the light right now, and the earth is coming alive after a long, cold winter.
Not everything in life needs to be forced, strategized, or perfectly timed. Like the perfect spring day… you just have to participate when it happens. Flow with life. Sometimes the best direction is simply the one that feels warmer. That could mean the conversation that lights you up, the idea that keeps returning, the place where your energy rises instead of drains…it’s the undeniable pull of the sun.
When something feels alive, people feel it too, and that's the thing about spring…the aliveness. Reinvention, rebirth, renewal. So maybe the real question isn't what should I do next? Maybe it's where is the sun right now? And, are you brave enough to follow it?
And…speaking of following the sun! I may have leaned into the theme just a little with this outfit. This buttery yellow cardigan from Tuckernuck is the exact color of sunshine, and wearing it felt like the mood. I paired it with my favorite AG boyfriend jeans that I reach for on repeat, and my Roger Vivier leopard pumps, because they added a bit of whimsy to the look. The yellow sunglasses are definitely obvious punctuation mark.
For jewelry, I layered a turquoise necklace that’s the perfect pop of color against the yellow, along with a beautiful mother of pearl piece from Julie Vos. And yes, I sat in the crook of our old red maple tree drinking from a demitasse cup that happened to match my sweater perfectly. Was it planned? Absolutely…and it was so much fun!
All of the pieces are linked and shoppable below and I hope something makes you smile!
And…P.S - this cardigan comes in lots of colors and it’s one of the best basics for spring that I’ve found!
Spring has a way of reminding us that good things come back around…the daffodils, the warmth, the feeling that anything is possible. I hope wherever you are today, you find your sun. And I hope you're brave enough to follow it.
Thanks so much for reading today!
