Adding Color for Spring
Color, Travel, and a Little Summer Dreaming!
It finally feels like the beginning of springβ¦everything is so green and the flowers have been absolutely stunning this year! The weather is supposed to keep getting warmer and Iβm so ready!
I'm loving the color trends this season and combining them in unexpected ways has been so much fun! I purchased this tomato red swing trench on a whim and I've been amazed at how often I reach for it. It goes with everything and adds that much-needed layer on a cooler day.
White jeans are always something I need to refresh every seasonβ¦I don't know about you, but I totally wear mine out! I'm addicted to the Beverly Skinny Flare from Veronica Beard. I have two pairs in regular denim and just added the white. I also love the Slim Wide Leg for a slightly more relaxed fit. Theyβre a bit more casual with the same great quality.
If you know me, you know I'm a big fan of Brochu Walker, and their shirting is the best I've found. This butter yellow blouse is surprisingly perfect with the red swing coat, and the scarf from Benaar LA just brings everything together. I've added a fabulous green beaded necklace from Julie Vos, and my shoes are green suede Gucci sandals I picked up last fall, but there are so many options that would work here, including these from Cult Gaia.
We're headed to Charleston for Easter and it should be very warm, so I'm packing dresses and skirts and planning to do a little shopping while we're there! Iβm packing this white dress from Tuckernuck (a steal at $100) because it goes with everything! I can wear it during the day and throw a sweater over my shoulders for dinner. It'll also be so cute with a scarf tied around the waist which is such a huge trend right now and an easy way to add more color.
I also just got the most fabulous zebra print wedges from Schutz that'll work with everything from dresses and skirts to jeans. Very comfortable and reasonably priced. I'll be packing my rattan bag from Cult Gaia as my daytime neutral, plus something for evening. Warm weather packing is just so much easier.
I've been loving the fragrances from Dries Van Noten lately, but Jo Malone will always have my heart β and I'm excited to try the new Beach Blossom Cologne as my summer scent.
I'm also hoping to actually sit down with my book club book while we're away. We're reading When Crickets Cry this month and I cannot wait to dive in.
And when we get back, I'm launching a summer entertaining seriesβ¦fabulous dinners, beautiful tables, wine suggestions, party themes. I know you're going to love it. I've been deep in my Pinterest boards getting ideas together, and I already have my eye on these yellow plates that are going to be perfect on my French blue outdoor table. Summer is absolutely my love language.
I hope youβve enjoyed this post and gotten a few ideas for spring outfits and started thinking about spring entertaining! There is so much to look forward to this spring!
Thanks so much for reading today!
